Gayle Petri

Gayle Petri is currently studying illustration at Ringling College of Art an Design in Sarasota Florida. Her preferred mediums include oil paint and watercolor, and her preferred subject work includes portraiture as well as meal-time still lives. Gayle's style ranges from impressionism to pop art to concept art to comic/cartoon art, with a focus on dramatic characterization. She models her work after the bold and colorful brushwork of daily painters as well as the romantic impressionists, and streives to mimic the poetically illuminated pre-Raphaelites. She recently had a piece featured in the juried Best of Ringling art show at her institution. Gayle has additionally had much of her pop art recognized and liked by various public figures on social media.
